Wrestling: It’s about show, about acting, about sport, about power. A project that appealed to us from the very beginning. Because an extraordinary sport demands an extraordinary production. And when the wrestlers meet for the “Clash of the Giants”, we provide an appropriate giant atmosphere.

And this is exactly why we made the wrestling world in the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh shine with our LED modules on 03.11.2018. We installed 2,268 LED modules (10 mm pixel pitch), which together created the shape of crown jewels. Outside the wrestling ring, for example, we used additional LED modules for the roof supports – a total of 1,608 modules with 16 mm pixel pitch. Added together, all the LED modules installed resulted in a total area of an impressive 1,200 m².

When giants compete, extremes are called for: we had to deal with extreme construction heights, weights and loads – challenges that we successfully mastered. In addition, we needed custom-made brackets and mounts for the pyramid-like structure that ran around the screens of the crown.

The fact that the event did not take place in the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen, but in Saudi Arabia, was reflected above all in the elaborate travel organisation, the tighter timings due to the planning and organisation of sea freight and in the materials needed for safe shipping.
