The Time Warp Festival has been a must-attend event for electro fans since 1994. A successful light show transformed the Time Warp into an impressive sound storm in April 2014. For the anniversary, we brought out the big guns: With 500 m² of modular LED material, we transformed the event in Mannheim’s Maimarkthalle into a radiant spectacle.

On the three main stages, we installed LED walls with a total area of 150 m², but went one step further with an elaborate roof construction made of LED creative material: The LED panels mounted offset on the hall ceiling and aligned with the stages enabled particularly spectacular effects. In this way, we created a tunnel of light – for the visual realisation of a “time warp”.

The mounting of the LED modules on the ceiling was the biggest challenge here. However, we had the right material for this purpose and, with our client cosmopop, an experienced partner at our side. For the installation at dizzy heights, we had provided LED creative material with a particularly low weight, which made the work much easier for the installation crew. Nevertheless, a team of ten technicians and additional helpers had their hands full for two long days. A glance at the impressive amount of material used makes the enormous effort clear: two completely filled trailers with over 1,000 LED modules. 370 of them found their place on the stages, over 630 were used for the panels on the hall ceiling. Equally demanding was the fine adjustment during the installation of the panels. In order to implement the tunnel construction exactly according to the client’s design specifications, a high degree of detail coordination was necessary.
