The 2006 World Cup in Germany went down in history as the “summer fairy tale”. The tournament offered pure drama and exciting matches in which victory and defeat were very close together – pure thrills! And across the country, millions cheered along as Germany’s eleven reached for the World Cup – and were rewarded with a proud and well-deserved 3rd place in the end.
We were right in the middle of it: In each of the twelve host cities, people gathered in front of our LED walls. The twelve video walls had a total screen area of over 1,000 m² throughout Germany. A new term quickly established itself for these public football festivals: “public viewing”. A completely new form of event was thus born, decisively shaped by Screen Visions.
