17 days, 20 sports, 6,000 athletes from over 50 countries: From 12 to 28 June 2015, the European Games were held in Azerbaijan for the first time. Over 14 weeks, we equipped fourteen venues with various video and display systems – for optimal live images to inform the numerous spectators.
The outdoor conditions in Baku posed a special challenge to the LED material. With air temperatures of up to 45° Celsius and a humidity of around 60 percent, the LED modules reached temperatures of up to 85° Celsius in places – and mastered this endurance test with flying colours.
Secret stars of the final event: 450 m² of a new type of LED floor. Its slip resistance makes it the ideal equipment for any indoor or outdoor event. The innovative mask also achieves excellent contrasts thanks to its black colouring. With 3,000 Nit at a beam angle of 140° as well as a 20-bit control with a new type of driver chip, this LED floor is currently unrivalled. In addition to the unique closing ceremony, we also integrated LED technology into the sporting competitions.
