IAA Mercedes-Benz
An LED screen doesn´t always have to be flat. Our concave design at the Mercedes-Benz Vans stand at the IAA impressively demonstrated this. The goal was to present the new X-Class to visitors through visual emotions and generate attention. The big-wave surfing theme associated with the stand was to be reflected in a wave-shaped screen.

In order to build a corresponding seamless and edgeless wave in the shape of the LED and to create a unique display, it was necessary to choose an inherently flexible LED module.

The perfect wave with the curved screen
Initially, there were various ideas and implementation approaches for the screen, ranging from individual LED clusters to flexuble mats and modular systems. After several preliminary tests, we decided on the modular version, which offered the most convincing visual presentation. Despite its longer setup compared to other systems, the flexible module offers several advantages: It offers the stability for outdoor use while also offering the flexibility to create a concave or convex curve. Another key requirement was all-weather material that could withstand rain and wind loads. For this, a special support and support structure had to be developed, which was integrated into the overall stand construction.
The design significantly influenced the IAA stand´s outdoor area. The curved design impressed, made visitors wide-eyed, and its trailored content consistently kept visitors paused and immersed in the theme world. Additional inquiries for use after the IAA confirm the positive feedback already received during the ongoing trade fair.
