crowd game disney
At Rock am Ring 2013, we transformed the Center Stage into a gigantic gaming console – with an interactive crowd game during the set-up breaks between the main acts. Up to 50,000 festivalgoers participated, controlling the protagonists of Disney´s cinematic adventure “The Lone Ranger” with their arm movements.
Crowd Game: Action to participate in
The crowd game worked via motion capture on two cameras mounted on the LED screens. Swinging the amrs left or right triggered a change in the direction of the game pieces. The moderation further energized the crowd by dividing the audience into two groups and having them compete against each other.

Interaction with the audience instead of advertising
The two groups controlled the Lone Ranger and his companion Tonto on a split screen during their daring run across a moving train. The game´s major advantage over a plain movie trailer: its involvement. The audience is actively involved and thus engages with the film much more intensely. The advertising message is thus more memorable.
During the game´s development, we worked closely with the client and the programmers from the very beginning. On-site at the Nürburgring, we were responsible for the video walls and setting up the camera technology. We also provided the moderator, who explained the game and encourage the crowd.
