THE VFB´S ASCENT: AN EMOTIONALLY CHARGED PUBLIC SCREENING EXPERIENCE ON 210 M²

The Swabians never let their team down! They proved this yet again in the last game of the season. For the VfB Stuttgart, it was nothing less than the team’s return to the 1st national league – and 100,000 fans provided all the support they required. In addition to the 60,000 people in the stadium, 40,000 cheered the team at the adjoining Cannstatter Wasen. A final score of 4: 1 was all that was needed to transform 21 May 2017 into an unforgettable day for the VfB fans.

We were commissioned by our client R&P to equip the gigantic public-screening event at the Wasen. Our LED material has been deployed at all twelve fan fests during the 2006 World Cup. We regularly manage emotionally-charged projects of this kind and can draw on many years of expertise. A total of five of our mobile LED screens – with sizes of 2 x 31 m² and 3 x 50 m² – as well as live transmission from the stadium allowed the visitors to share in the excitement from close to every corner of the Wasen site. Among the 50m² screens, the latest containers from our rental park were also in use: the INFiLED ER5pro modules have a pixel pitch of 5.9 mm and are the world’s most high-resolution units of this type and size – guaranteeing that not a single goal can be overlooked during outdoor public screenings.
